Ostel Vets ‘n’ Pets Program
The mission of Ostel Foundation Inc is to introduce and empower trauma survivors and people of all ages. Our Vets ’n’ Pets Program is designed for Veterans specifically!
Welcome to Ostel Vets and Pets Program, formerly known as Pets for Vets! Our program is dedicated to providing a retreat for veterans and individuals suffering from PTSD and other conditions, offering a safe space to experience the healing powers of nature, horses, and dogs. Participants in the program will have the opportunity to engage in individual and group activities that encourage interaction with animals and nature, fostering a sense of peace and reflection in a serene environment. The retreat includes a range of activities designed to promote healing and inner peace, such as a luncheon in a beautiful barn setting, grooming horses, horse rides, carriage photos, a nature tour, painting sessions, and a social hour with hypoallergenic small dogs. Through these experiences, participants will have the chance to connect with nature and animals, reflecting on their lives and finding solace in the unspoken love and forgiveness demonstrated by the animals. Join us at Vets and Pets as we strive to create a supportive and nurturing environment that promotes healing, connection, and inner peace for veterans and individuals facing challenges. Experience the transformative power of nature and animals as we come together to support one another on the path to unbridled healing unleashed!
Ostel Youth Club
Ostel Youth Club
Welcome to Ostel Youth Club! Youth aged 9 to 16 can join us in at several opportunities for a fun and educational experience introducing the incredible benefits of horses, dogs and nature. As a way to further our mission, we invited youth to experience the Ostel way of life. They’ll learn leadership, life skills, peer mediation, conflict resolution, team building, boundaries, respect and experience the incredible benefits of horses, dogs and nature. Onsite we have tons of fun activities including movies in the home theater, a library, painting a pony, pony rides and in-house therapy puppies!
Please note this is a club, not a camp or daycare, although parents are welcome to drop off. Must have a reference to be considered. Participants be able to follow directions. Also please note, there is poop and bugs (barn work and animal care is part of it.) We require closed toe shoes, a change of clothes, a towel and a water bottle. Picky eaters are encouraged to bring their lunch/snacks. Otherwise cooking is a frequent activity.
Pony rides are available during club opportunities, but individual horse experiences must be booked separately and are complimentary with a $50 donation.

Welcome to the Ostel Library, a literary haven founded by our very own President and bestselling Amazon author, Ashley Kostelac. As a branch of the Ostel Youth Club, our library is a treasure trove for young minds and a delight for parents seeking to nurture a love for reading in their children. At the Ostel Horse Lovers Library, we believe in the power of literacy to shape young lives and provide essential tools for success. We value communication, literacy, and offer a wide range of resources to empower youth on their journey. Join us for our engaging online story time sessions on the Ostel Foundation YouTube channel, where we read the beloved Pony Pals series, featuring everyone's favorite therapy horse, Trumpet. In addition, we offer opportunities for children to work on their reading and speaking skills by encouraging them to read aloud to Trumpet themselves, promoting self-confidence and enhancing public speaking abilities. Come discover the joy of reading and learning at the Ostel Library, where imagination knows no bounds.

The Healing Space at Ostel Place is a program where unbridled healing is unleashed. It is a sanctuary for sharing, support, and healing. Monthly, we invite individuals to come together in a safe and nurturing environment to open up about their healing journey, find solace in shared experiences, and discover resources to aid them on their path to wellness. The Healing Space offers a gathering where people can feel heard, understood, and supported as they navigate their personal healing journeys. Whether facing trauma, grief, mental health challenges, or simply seeking a space to connect with others on a similar path this program provides a safe haven for individuals to express themselves authentically and without judgment. Participants are encouraged to share their stories, struggles, and triumphs, fostering a sense of community and solidarity in healing. Through open conversations guided discussion, and access to resources, individuals can find comfort, guidance, and encouragement to continue their healing journey with strength and resilience. At The Healing Space, we believe in the power of connection, empathy, and shared experiences to facilitate healing and growth. Join us as we come together to create a supportive and compassionate space where healing is nurtured, hope is kindled, and individuals find the courage to embrace their healing unbridled and unleashed.

As a 501(c)3 the Ostel Foundation is a Non-profit Charitable Organization. The Foundation operates solely on donations and sponsors. Below is a menu of complimentary services per each donation amount. We greatly appreciate every bit of support. Families and individual who donate for weekly equine experiences learn to ride and utilize basic horsemanship, as well as develop communication skills, learn about respect and boundaries, practice teamwork and develop leadership skills. Sharing the healing powers and benefits of these magnificent animals help further the mission of the Ostel Foundation!
